In the Garden of Literary Genius

Relaxing in the
green garden of literary genius.
Filled with rows
of beans, tomatoes
and lettuce.
W.B Yeats wanders by
digging in the earth
his nails becoming crusty
and black.
Far off Van Morrison sings and
Gary Snyder reposes,
contemplating the sky.
Then Kerouac and Cassady show up
and wreck the whole thing
chucking beer cans and
doing donuts in the garden.
Later, close to diner, Keats and Shelly show up,
putting the beats in their place
singing along with Van
laughing, giggling and screeching
like the sky-lark or nightingale
higher
and higher
in the
deep blue Snyder
sky.

In the Garden of Literary Genius
I had been studying art history very intently, and Raphael's "School of Athens" I found very intriguing. Mainly because it was very philosophical. This is my apotheosis, a nod to Raphael.
